norman manea on my first novel, esto’s lover

I had the privilege that the most famous Romanian writer and candidate for the Nobel award, Norman Manea,

read my first novel, ”Esto’s Lover”, published by Curtea Veche publishing house, Bucharest, in 2010, and wrote a blurb on it for a possible English edition:

”I’m pleased to know that a message of love and admiration to the great Ernesto Sabato is coming now from my native Bukovina and from a new generation of Romanian writers.
The author has imagined a love story in which the woman-lover of Sabato, herself a Romanian, is telling their amorous adventure, with all the pathos, lyricism and tension of a non-professional writer, a subtle kind of scenario that keeps a touch of the burlesque, of nostalgia and play in the novel of Constantin Severin.
Argentina and Romania meet in a inter-textual fiction beyond borders and history”.
