               In memoriam George Floyd

I can’t breathe

with the neck tight in the vise

of the knee of supremacy

the carotid artery is torn by weight

of hundreds of years of slavery violences and hatred

I can’t breathe

the tension rises and the heart goes crazy

the knee of supremacy

close your frothy mouth

and the world around falls into the void

I can’t breathe

the last thoughts are suffocated

below the weight of the knee of supremacy

father mother sister brother lover

a beautiful story in disarray

I can’t breathe

with an imploding heart

and skin peeled by collective hatred

with crushed memories

below the knee of supremacy

I can’t breathe

below the huge knee of supremacy

which fell like lightning on Chicago Avenue

the world hangs strangled

by my hot neck
